A top Argentinian creative team including director, set and lighting designer Ariel del Mastro, award-winning lighting director Ariel “el gato” Ponce and video designer Maxi Vecco have created a stunning production design for Green Day’s rock opera “American Idiot”, currently playing at the Broadway Theatre in Buenos Aires.

Robe moving lights were the primary lightsources on the Main Stage at Innibos 2017, a high profile arts and music festival staged in and around Mbombela (Nelspruit) in South Africa presenting Afrikaans music, theatre, literature and visual arts.

The amazing team from Robe’s South African distributor DWR Distribution totally excelled themselves at the 2017 Mediatech Africa exhibition last week … taking visitors on a show-stopping ‘experience’, culminating in a fully choreographed show staged at their new demo / showroom facility in Randburg, Johannesburg.

It is Eurovision selection season … and one of the 43 hopefuls for this year’s event in Kiev, Ukraine, in May is Slovenia’s Omar Naber whose song “On My Way” was chosen at a spectacular Eurovision Melody (EMA – Evrovizijska MelodijA) show staged in Hall A2 of the Gospodarsko Razstavisce exhibition centre in Ljubljana.

The 2016 BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore tennis tournament was presented by SC Global and staged at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang over a seven day period at the end of October.

Robe took its winning themed theatre environment concept to the 2016 Prolight+Sound expo, transporting the Robe Piazza to Hall 3 of the Frankfurt Messe, where the Czech manufacturer invested in a space three times larger than at any previous Prolight …. and ensured it was the talk of the show!

Robe’s new Square LED fixture made its European live TV debut on the three shows produced by Flanders’ public broadcaster VRT which selected the song to represent Belgium at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in Stockholm. The shows featured an intricate and interesting lighting design by Ignace D’Haese from Arf & Yes.

Robe was once again a major sponsor of the TPi Awards, supplying nearly 300 lighting fixtures to the prestigious 2016 event. Produced by TPi Magazine, part of Mondiale Publishing Ltd, this year's show - and the event’s 15th birthday - was production managed by Ryan Esson alongside production assistant Daniel Jones.

Robe continued supporting the worldwide introductions of award winning lighting designer Yaron Abulafia’s authoritative book, “The Art of Light On Stage – Lighting in Contemporary Theatre” published by Routledge, this time at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv in conjunction with “Man of the Hour” a production by acclaimed international choreographer Itzik Galili, with Yaron’s innovative lighting design.

Czech Republic won its fourth Fed Cup women’s tennis title in five years in the 2015 final staged at Prague’s O2 Arena in front of a capacity 14,500 audience who enjoyed a nail-biting weekend of superlative tennis with their team playing a really strong Russian contingent … and Robe was one of six very proud sponsors.

Robe Lighting rocked Las Vegas this weekend … presenting its largest booth at any LDI expo to date, complete with its first major new product launch at an LDI show with the BMFL Wash and BMFL Wash XF luminaires.

Robe took a completely different approach to the 2015 PLASA London expo, creating a fully immersive piazza environment in their ‘Arena’ space – the largest stand on the exhibition floor - which became a showcase for the latest products built for theatres from the Czech manufacturer, including the new DL7S Profile, the latest DL4 range and the BMFL Blade … amongst others.
